Outlook Express Set-Up
Please note!
IF YOU HAVE AN EXCHANGE SERVER CURRENTLY IN USE, YOU MUST CALL OUR OFFICE IMMEDIATELY!
The configuration of any email box can be done in any default mail handling program
that supports POP 3 email accounts. (AOL is NOT a POP 3 email).
The following directions are for Outlook Express.
- Open Outlook Express
- Click 'Tools' (located on top navigation bar)
- Select 'Accounts'
- Click 'Add,' then select 'mail...'
- Type name to be displayed, i.e. "Chris Smith", and select "Next>"
- Type full email address, i.e. 'csmith@webfeat.net'
- First sentence of this new screen should read "My incoming mail server is a POP3
server."
- Black below "Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server" should read as follows:
mail.yourdomainname.com - i.e. mail.webfeat.net
- Blank below "Outgoing mail (SMTP) server" should be set to whatever your Internet
Service Provider suggests. (For example, Fuse: mail.fuse.net --- --- --- Time-Warner:
smtp-server.cinci.rr.com )
- Select "Next>"
- In the blank for 'Account Name,' type whatever is your email address (i.e. csmith@webfeat.net)
- In the blank for 'Password,' enter your assigned password
- Select "Next>" and then select "Finish"
- Send yourself a test and if you receive it, you're all set!
Note: If you want your name@domainname.com to appear as your reply address you
MUST make that mail account your default mail account. (Go to tools, accounts, highlight
this account, and set it as the default.)
Please submit your domain names and passwords in the add/delete form. We must set
these up on the server to work properly.
